* 오늘의 마지막 포스팅은 크리스 마틴(Chris Martin)이 이끄는 영국의 포스트 라디오헤드(Radiohead)라고도 불렸던 4인조 록그룹 콜드플레이(Coldplay)의 노래 "Viva La Vida"입니다. 콜드플레이는 2000년 싱글인 "Yellow"를 발매하면서부터 세계의 주목을 받게 됩니다. 개인적으로 이 때는 별로라고 생각했습니다. 하지만, 이후에 나온 3번째 앨범 "X&Y" 를 접하면서 생각이 조금 바뀌었습니다.^^ "X&Y" 이 후, 이들에 대해 관심을 갖고 있던 차에 2008년 중반 "Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends" 란 비교적 긴 명칭의 신보가 나오게 됩니다. 지금 소개해 드리는 "Viva La Vida" 는 바로 이 앨범에 수록되어 있는 타이틀곡입니다. 음.. 간결하고 스트레이트한 전주가 인상적인 곡입니다.

 

또한, 이 노래에는 속 뜻이 있습니다. 1830년 영국의 "샤를 10세" 가 프랑스 혁명 전의 왕정 시대의 정치로 되돌리려하자, 시민들이 반발하여 다시 7월 혁명이 일어납니다. 그 사건으로 인해 "샤를 10세"는 자리에서 쫓겨납니다. 이 노래에서 나오는 "나" 는 바로.. 샤를 10세를 가르키는 것입니다. 역사 공부를 할 수 있어 더욱 좋은 노래입니다.^^*
