* 메리 크리스마스~!^^ 모두 즐거운 성탄절 맞이하시길 바랍니다. 자~! 오늘은 소개해 드릴 노래는 "왬(Wham)" 의 "지난 크리스마스(Last Christmas)" 같은 넘버는 너무 식상한 것 같아서 역발상으로 성탄절과는 전혀 어울리지 않을 법한 곡을 선택해 보았습니다. 바로~! 대학시절 저의 노래방 애창곡 중에 하나이기도 했던 "헬로윈(Helloween)" 의 "A Tale That Wasn't Right" 입니다. 하핫, 크리스마스에 이렇게 절규하는 음악을 듣는다는 것도 참 색다른 일이 아닐 수 없겠죠~?^^

 헬로윈은 1978년 독일에서 처음으로 결성된 멜로딕 스피드 메틀의 원조격인 밴드로 리드 기타리스트였던 카이 한센(Kai Hansen)" 을 주축으로 속주 기타 연주의 달인 "마이클 바이카스(Michael Weikath)" 와 베이스에 "막커스 그로스코프(Markus Grosskopf)" 그리고 메인 보컬 "마이클 키스케(Michael Kiske)" 등의 젊은 청년 다섯명으로 이루어진 팀이었습니다. 이들은 1985년 자신들이 프로듀스한 "Victim Of Fate" 가 수록된 셀프 타이틀의 미니 데뷔 앨범 "Helloween" 을 발매합니다. 이듬해인 1986년에는 정식 앨범 "Walls Of Jericho" 를 연이어 발표한 뒤, 카이 한센은 기타 연주에만 몰두하고자 새로운 보컬리스트 마이클 키스케 영입하며 1987년 "Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part. I" 을 발매하는데 바로 이 앨범에 "A Tale That Wasn't Right" 이 수록되어 있습니다. 참고로 1988년 출반된 헬로윈의 "Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part. II" 는 이들의 앨범 중 가장 많은 판매고를 올리며 "아이언 메이든(Iron Maiden)", "주다스 프리스트(Judas Priest)" 와 함께 1980년대 메탈의 대표주자로 우뚝 세우는데 큰 공헌을 하기도 했습니다.
